what is this switch?

what is the little switch that's next to the hazard button on my 2003 focus? I searched in my manual and cant find it, thanks beefheart

take the surround off and see if its still wired up. most likely it was used for some sort accessory, like leds or something. if there is power going to it but nothing hooked up to the switch, then its good to go for a future add on.

Did he have a amp and sub in the car? You can get line transceivers that go inline with the speakers and convert the line voltages to the stock speakers to RCA's for an amplifier. I did this when I competed in dB Drag event with my focus. I kept the stock radio due to it being a lease. I then wired in a switch for the remote for the amplifier instead of hacking into the wireharness.

Do you still have contact with the previous owner? a quick call would answer your question.

I do remember the last owner said he did have a speaker box in the trunk, thank you so much for the help, great forum, this car runs really good and the engine is really quiet, im happy with the car so far.
