How to completely remove front fenders
I may be getting some carbon fiber fenders, and wanted to be able to install them myself.
Unfortunately, I've found that you have to remove the front bumper first, but in order to remove the front bumper, you have to remove the fenders first... What I mean is is that the front fenders are hard to get off, and the front bumper removed will help out, but not much. In fact, there is a clip that holds the fender onto the front bumper... And removing the front bumper is difficult, since the instructions I have do not work. the instructions I have are from www.myfordfocus.com how-to section. The instructions do not mention undoing a bolt that is underneath the car near the top vertex of the headlight. And this bolt is in a pretty tight spot. The only area I'm having trouble removing the fender is where the fender meets the door and the sideskirts. Now I know there's a bolt that's only accessible via the door jamb. It's the area near that jack site that I'm stuck at. If anyone has any information on this, please post. Thanks. |

It's actually pretty easy... I had to take mine off and put them back on not too long ago.
You don't have to remove the bumper, and it doesn't make it any easier (at least mine was really easy with it still on). If you're having trouble there, remove that little piece of the sideskirt that's not attached to the rest, all you have to do is take out the bolt and then slide it off toward the wheel. That's how I did it on my 2000 ZX3 at least... hope it'll work for you.

1. pop the hood. 2. unscrew the bolts under the hood that hold the fender in. 3. unscrew the bolts that are on the bottom right side of the fender. 4. unscrew any bolts that connect the splash guard and the fender. 5. unscrew the screws that connect the bumber to the fender. And you're done.

You have to take the grill out to take the headlights out and then you can get to those bolts on the inside front fender. Some thing like that.

I don't think he's having a problem with the front guys...
