White spots on rear bumper??
The past few months i have recently discovered these little white "pin" dots i guess you could call them, they are all over the top of the rear bumper right below where my hatchback trunk opens up. I have no clue what they are, they remind me of little red spots I have seen on my white cars, but I can always get those off by either scrubbing hard or with wax. I have tried both on my Black Focus but they still won't go away. You can even feel them when you rub your hand over the bumper. So I'm wondering if any one knows what these are and how I can possible get rid of them, like I said for some reason they are just on the rear bumper and not on the rest of the car. This car is new, I have only had it for a year and I cover it up a majority of the time that I'm not using it so I am very puzzled. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I would highly recommend clay barring it before any rubbing or polishing compound. That back ledge on the hatchbacks are a magnet for paint contamination. I usually claybar just that part of my car once every couple/few months, whereas I only claybar the whole car maybe once a year. Any detailing clay will remove those dots/bumps you are talking about.
PS--make sure you wash the area first, clay bar it, then wash, then wax. Clay removes any wax you have on the car in addition to contaminants, so make sure you re-wax. |

My bad i forgot the clay. You can get it at any pepboys or autozone. Be sure to get the mothers clay system, it comes with everything you need. It will be in the detailing section with the washes and waxes

Could it also be those air bubbles ? I found tons on my mom's Chevy, and it turned out 2 be this clear wrap crap they put all over the car and now it's peeling. But I am not sure, I haven't seen it on the Focus's? Probably only Chevy does it. Just wondering.

It sounds like overspay. That can happen if for instance you are parked near a building being painted and they are spraying the building rather than using paint rollers. Definitly use clay, it should come off without much effort.
