blaupunkt radio AUX

Is the only option one of those boxes (frdw-aux) with cable gonne be close to $100?

You can't just fool the CDC to accept audio over w/e connections in the back takes the audio?

They sell stock radios on the ebayz that have a hole drilled in the front and an aux input installed. They tap into something inside the radio and it plays regardless of what function of the radio is being used (am/fm, CD, etc).

There's got to be a similar capability for the Blaupunkt. Actually I thought that the advantage to the frdw-aux was that it allows you to control your ipod using the cd changer controls.

I don't believe so. Nothing I read mentions that.

I really don't wanna spend $90-100 just for aux ability.

you can buy a $60 dual head unit with aux... dash kit $14, wire harnes $15 and a cheap aux cable on ebay $3...

all new and all less than $100

or you can buy a used bet quality complete system for under $100

As far as I know you need that piece. Somewhere on youtube there's a guy who made a usb/aux in outlet for his dash where the cigarette lighter would go. He had control of his ipod with the head unit when connected through the USB port.

I'm seeing a lot of potentially useful information in the related videos for this video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l0-y4EFFWrE

I'm at work though so I can't actually play any of them cuz it's blocked.

Oh I've watched that like 5 times. Um I don't believe he had control. He touches the buttons on the radio and they dont' do anything.

The guy who uses the piece from a Nissan Juke to make the outlet?

So the USB would just be a charger? That's lame, I was all excited to install it on mine : /

You're right, I found it again....http://www.focusfanatics.com/forum/showthread.php?t=277316

And I think he leaves out the fact that you would need the frdw-aux part to connect it to the radio itself.

Yes the USB is just a charger. Now supposedly you can if you have IPOD purchase a different one than what he purchased that would let you control it, but it's more expensive.

Yeah if you watch all his video's, you'll see that behind the stereo is another Cig Lighter socket with USB cig thing plugged in that the USB plugs into. He does talk about data soldering, but it doesn't go to the FRDw-aux unit he has for Aux in.

You would have to purchase the other option.

Still would love a cheap dummy aux in. But I guess this blau radios only have the ford protocol.

What I don't understand is why you can't take something like:
http://www.amazon.com/Blaupunkt-AUXI...unkt+AUX-2+RCA

And just change the pins around to match ford's pins.
