Coil continuity test = no beep. Should I have a beep? (with picture)

Prods on newly installed MSD coil itself = beep (where the pigtail lead would plug in). Prods on pigtail that goes on coil = no beep. Should there be a beep? Key is off.

why are you continuity testing the harness?

Long story short, my car isn't starting. It sat for a while (4 months) and the battery went dead, so I jump started it and it ran immediately. I let it run for about 15 minutes and then shut it down to see if it'd start on its own again. Nothing. Put a fresh battery in. Nothing. Treated fuel and added fresh. Nothing. Tested for spark, didn't see any. Replaced coil and spark plug wires. Still nothing. All electrical seems to be working and starter turns, but no fire. I can hear fuel pump coming on.

At the risk of sounding...whatever, I wasn't aware there was one. Is it under the hood or inside the car? What fuse number?

Huh. There isn't a fuse. It's direct to the ECU.

Check the Crank Sensor though.

Is B43 and B41 located in the fuse box under the hood in the little box next to the air filter, inside the car, or someplace yes?

Those are the physical sensors, on the block and on the head.

MSD tech support will tell you what the resistance across that coil should test at.

Here, if this is the right part number:

Turns ratio: 83:1
Primary resistance: .53 OHMs
Secondary resistance: 13.7K OHMs
Inductance: 3.9mH

And if you keep trying to send power to the ECU like in the pic you are going to suffer some serious grief, a definite no-no, why the other guy asked why you were doing that. Test the coil NOT the harness, or harness while unplugged from ECU. In certain places the voltmeter has enough power to short out the ECU.

Kindergarten kids look for beeps, you should be looking for actual values (numbers). Meaning you need to know ahead of time what they should be, why the last guy gave them to you. Your asking if you should be getting beeps means nothing to us.
