SVT Snorkel and Airbox?

When I bought my SVT it was missing the snorkel. It has been running fine without it but I'm pretty sure it'd be better with one in there. So I finally got around to ordering one and installing it today.

I opened up the airbox... and something is wrong.

I feel like I'm trying to put a square peg in a round hole.

Anyone know whats up? Is that actually the non-SVT airbox in there?

That's not an Svt air box. My snorkel hole is shaped like the snokle you have there, not a circle. An Svt air box would also have a hole in the right side for the silencer.

There IS an opening on the side of your airbox. You're just missing the SVT specific snorkel that fits on the side. No big deal really.

As for the snorkel that you have there, you can still use it with that box if you don't feel like buying a new box. You'll need a heat gun and heat up the snorkel end, then man-handle it onto the round opening. The plastic will be soft enough to mold around the round opening. It'll be tight and you won't have any gaps. Maybe use a hose clamp to keep the two-halves of the snorkel together if you feel like it.

Yep, there is the hole on the side for the airbox resonator.

Hm.. I have a heat gun so I may give that a shot if I can't find one for sale. I would like to get one just so it's all SVT parts in there.

Thanks for the tips.

That's a zx3 air box. Which means the svt side snorkel will not fit. I believe the zx3 side resonator is smaller. Just buy a svt air box?

Just check the B-S-T section or put something in the Want To Buy area that you are needing one. You could have picked one up a month ago from me for really cheap lol. I am sure someone on here will have one for you.
