Drift start....

I've done a search of the forum and can't find anything, so here goes....

Am I correct that you cannot drift start a manual transmission equipped 2012+ Foucs? I've tried it, twice, and it never started. Kinda sucks if that is the case. EVERY manual I have ever owned could do this....

That would be kind of sucky, but maybe it's an anti theft thing since the steering wheel doesn't lock.

"Drift Start"????

You mean popping the clutch to try and start it without using the starter?

This is what I'm thinking as well. Haven't tried on this focus.

I'm pretty sure I have. Maybe this is the issue: I have an SE that doesn't have push-button start.

Is the issue that there's no equivalent to leaving the key in the on position on push-button start cars?

Drift Start? I had to read this post to find out what the heck it was. LOL.. I must be getting old.

Pop the clutch - that's what we called it back in the 80's

I have owned a car or two that would not allow starting this way.... funny though, I don't remember which ones. Damn, now I know I am getting old!

I have started my 2012 SE while rolling back on a hill and popping the clutch.

If you doing some drifting in your car and it's not started, you might have other issues.
