Focus estate uk purchase which year

Hi
I'm looking to buy a used estate, but am not sure which year to go for. Do I invest in a 2008 plate with lower mileage which seem to be going for about 6-7k, or go for a cheaper older plate with more mileage in the 4k area. Looking for something reliable that will last a bit but not too keen forking out too much if it's not worth it.
Cheers

What trim level and engine types are you shopping?
In my experience you do not have to worry about reliability issues between 2007 or 2008 model years. Myself I do like the face lift 2008 differences, both exterior and interior.
