asking for advice

Hi I just purchased a 48,000 2.0l 4 cyl split port injection 4 door focus, non sport model(hell it doesn't have a tach).I have to say this car has been the biggest pos I have ever owned.I bought it simply because my 04 ranger has never let me down,so I thought ford maybe just builtgood cars i was wrong.

well anyways heres the problem, so 2 days after I brought the car home form the dealership, the drivers right coilspruing burst from it's cup.So had to get the car towed to the dealership.well ford replaced everything since it's was2 days old.And there was a recall that they didn't check. But they didn't align anythign back up, so ipaid a private mechanic to do an alignment since apparently or local dealership Eau clarie ford is fun of bunch of idiots that can't fix a car.So now whenevr the car rocks from brakign or just pushing on it therew is a hoorible clucnk in the rear, kindof near the driver rear side.So i jacked the car up and popped the wheels off.Pressed the brakes,no noise.Put the tires on, and loosed turned them while free in the air.The drivers side does not move a s smooth as the other side, and makes a clunk when you stop the wheel from spinning, the other side has this noise put it turns eaiser, and the noise is less severe, almost not ther.So I thought maybe a bad bearing. So put the car back down and slap the tires on.Drove for a bit and yep it's still there(i did not replace the bearing since I don't have a press).Drove fhome and parked it, Here's the thing if you put in reverse and tap the brakes, you can here the clunk noise, and it seems like the whole car rocks on it's suspension.

So i have no idea what this could be,are the back springs braking too, is the strutt bad?? Or wheel bearing, any advice would be welcome.

Frankly I love my ranger, but this pos is costing memore than it'sworth.

Okay well first ford just like most car makers make good or great cars there is always a bad egg like the SPI focus. Now the main problem is that you bought it from someone who didn't take very good care of it. The reason your wheels could be doing that is the breaks might be rubbing unevenly, the bearing is bad, or the drum might have something in it broken.

7K for SPI a good Zetec goes for 4K an SVT goes for 5K. You should complain an have the other person pay for repairs that's insane for a car that's gonna blow its engine at 120 to 150k miles.

Yes well that shame falls upon me, I just wanted it fixed so my wife could get towork, after lookign at it some more, if you park it and push down on the conors, no noise. But when it throw in drive or reverse than hit the brake whamoo, it's there. So wheel bearing or something with the drum.Of course You can't take it off the usual way, and I can't reach those four bolts in the back.Anyone know what this might be.It made brake sounds before but they weren't bad,now though after the aligned the back it's differently there.Maybe they were hitting it with hammers when they were aligning it?

Take it back, the brakes are going to be the least of your concern.

Wow 7k for a 10yr old Focus. Will you buy a Zetec '03 for 10k I have one? Sorry for the flippant remark but, I bothers me when someone buys a 10year old car without checking it out first and then when it goes wrong they say well Ford can't make good cars. Many people on here have Focus's older than my '03 that are still going strong. If you want help we can help but, try not to offend people by making general statements about the cars we all love (it's why we are on this site remember)!
