Pothole ate my wheel

I hit a pothole next to a manhole cover last night, destroyed my tire and my wheel has a chunk out of it. The local shop doesn't think it'll hold air. I'm wondering if I should buy a set a four wheels and swap over my tires or what. Anyone have a good place to look for new wheels?

If you just need one wheel/tire assembly= Why buy a set? You'll still need to buy one tire. So 4 wheels & 1 tire & swap over the other 3 tires to the new wheels? Just get a wheel/tire assembly & call it good. I really try to dodge those.

Because I don't know what one factory wheel would go for, but I bet I could sell my three and get a set of four aftermarket and one new tire for about the same price.

OEM alloy wheels are $400-$600 depending on which ones they are

It's a horrible practice to replace one tire when it blows if the other tires have more than 5k miles on them. Running on uneven wore tires is a terrible idea.

he can have one tired shaved to the correct tread depth.

however, i recommend OP contacts the city since they are liable for the damage. if not, have a lawyer contact them and they'll settle.

It took a chunk out of your wheel and didn't mess up your tire? Check out tire rack, looks like time to upgrade to some ST wheels.
