Interesting. I'm wondering if an oil catch can is something I should do?
I get my first three oil changes in each car on the dealer, but after that, I'll find an "actual" synthetic (like he mentions).

Hell, I put a catch can on my NAsvtfocus. Definitely need one on a DI engine.

I saw solid shifter bushings for $25 in the recommended row at the bottom of the page. My brothers Ralliart was 10x better shifting after installation of
solid bushings. |

Meh. Catch cans and "full synthetic" oil are just a band-aid for the problems of a DI engine. Doesn't matter which catch can you use or how fantastic your oil, your engine is gonna get gunked-up sooner or later. DI is great for combustion efficiency, but port-injection is much better for engine longevity. Valve cleaning should be manufacturer warranty maintenance on all DI engines every 60K miles.

The carbon build-up that is caused by DI on your intake valves is hard as a rock. It literally has to be scraped and picked off. You'd have to Seafoam every 1K miles from date of purchase to see any results. It's just a known problem that doesn't have a solution currently.
