S-MAX Ice Tube from Cfm ?
Has anyone ever tried this before? im looking at getting this but not sure if its actually worth while. I mean it makes sense ... cold air will make more hp but is it enough to actually make a difference. ?

Hmmmmm

so this is my theory behind this... someone correct me if im wrong.
with this your not moving your filter. your filter is still sucking in the same hot air. which is not dense because hotter air is less dense. so that means the filter can only suck in so much hot air. therefore your cooling only that amount of air. It doesnt cool the air coming in the pipe it cools the air already in there. unless the amount of air is restricted by the cylinder. |

^makes sense. seems like a ridiculous idea to buy that. just stick your filter somewhere away from the heat of the engine. Don't use metal intake pipes if you can (metal pipes heat up more than plastic) or wrap your intake pipes in insulation.

Reminds me of the dry ice intake cooling technique. This is probably a little more refined than dry ice though.

It would work on a na car probably dropping intake air temps to abount 50° or so. Seen something similar used on some na cars at the drag strip right by my house. To be most effective you would need to insulate the pipe in the engine bay and draw the air in from the outside. With all that being said at $600+ then no unless you wanted to build a mainly na drag car and had already done all the other mods you could do.
