Worth upgrades 145K miles?

have 2000 focus ZX3 2.0L ztec with 145K on it. Is it worth trying to squeeze cheap performance upgrades on it? If so, what should I do / any good maintenance tips at that mileage ( minus routine fluid, break and filtration)?

Btw just bought a month ago and brand new to the forum.

Andrew

Good advice on modifications is to never go cheap on it. That doesn't mean not to buy used performance parts, but don't go the route of doing something cheaply to gain nothing. Most people get a larger diameter exhaust from the catalytic converter back, SVT header, a quality air intake and a good tune would really wake up the car. Also at a 145,000 miles on a Zetec, it is just breaking in the motor lol. As long as your motor was well maintained and taken care of you shouldn't have any problems with the lifespan of these motors.

look for a used svt set up in the bst here on the forum, should be around 300 or soo for header-cat-flex but if you do that i would recommend getting a tune to make it run nice and smooth. it all depends on what your budge is.

Intake, Focus central 65mm throttle body, Adjustable cam gears(dyno-tuned), 4-2-1 header, 2.5" flex pipe, 2.25" exhaust and a tune by Tom(1turbofocus)gave me 16 whp and 18 ftlbs of TQ.
Some of the parts are used from the BST section for a total of, $1,195.00

The car is a completely more fun to drive now.
