Lunch box question

So I might be wrong here, and I might sound stupid but what exactly is the lunch box delete? Is it the back muffler in the back that is huge and ugly? And if I cut this off how loud will my car get? I really don't want my car to be annoying loud. Has anyone ever put a glass pack in place of it or has everyone just did the straight pipe? I wouldn't mind putting a glass pack there if it would sound good, but I really don't know much about 4cyl cars, I've always drove trucks. Oh and my car has the split port engine by the way. Let me know what u guys think is a good or bad idea and maybe some pictures?

The lunchbox is the canister behind the tip cut it off and you get a mellow sounding exhaust
I like the way they sound after the box is gone IMO

Okay, mostly I'm worried about the exhaust being annoying going down the highway, because I take a lot of trips.

also, i added a 2 inch diameter out the back to fill the void and it made it slightly more noticeable to just no lunch box. i think you will like the results of this mod, plus its free!!

Yeah I'm going to go ahead and do this mod, first I have to wait for my income taxes so I can get new tires checked off of my list of things to do.

Plenty of exhaust videos here, sure there is one with a lunch box delete

And the how to here

I personally wouldnt bother, its just going to make noise and not help your car in anyway. I wouldnt spend my time doing this mod, the return isnt worth my time. Of course, you are free to do what you like, your car and time. If you enjoy spending the time on this sort of thing, by all means go for it My two cents would be to start saving for a proper, 2.5" flex pipe back system.

I really don't get much back in taxes, I found 2 tires 50 a piece at Wal-Mart, and my taxes will just about cover that if I'm lucky.
