Upgrading the door speakers, advice?

So I've got a 2002 SVT witha sony xplod headunit
i bought the HU 2 years ago and it serves my purposes well, looks good, good specs, all the preouts i need, everything.

It's powering the four 5x7s and i think the previous owner repalced those with 2 kenwoods and 2 bazooka 5x7's

and i have a 350.1 alpine amp on an 8' Kicker.

The system sounds nice, but I'm looking to add new door speakers and add an amp to them. The door speakers are SERIOUSLY lacking.


So for brands, i'm looking at MB quart because of price and i've heard good reviews, but I'm also considering pioneer and kenwood.

Size wise, I can either go with stock size, but i'm considering putting 6x9 in the rear for a bit more bass/mid response and room for a larger tweeter and either the same in the front or convert to a 6 3/4" in the front for a better sound quality.


I want to stay with the same brand all around.

What i'm mainly looking for is stronger bass to add to my sub, but a much for stable and powerful mid and high when it's cranked. Distortion is the enemy!

For an amp, i'm looking at a Rockford Fosgate r300.4 prime for $120 or maybe an MB Quart 4 channel amp with at least that much power.


any suggestions?


ps. I'll be building a false floor in the spare tire well to house the amps and a 1.5 farad cap in addition to upgrading all the speaker wires and the big 3
