Brand new 2013 SE with Ford Racing goodies - rare?
So I've been contemplating my next car purchase, and the Mk3 is on the list of possibilities. I found this while searching cars.com:
2013 Ford Focus SE - $19,995 The interesting thing is that it comes with some Ford Racing goodies already installed, which I've never seen before: Quote:
Is it common for dealers to fit new Mk3's this way? Anyone got one? Or is this a one-off that the dealer decided to toy around with to make a poor-man's ST?

Some dealers will modify cars. We did a fiesta 2 years ago. It sucks that it still has the drum brakes.

Looks like the dealer put on Motegi wheels and called it a Ford Racing edition

Did a search on Ford.com and shows this car with price of $17,495 after rebates. And yes its a Se with no options.

Well that's just sad. The dealer installs Ford Racing stuff to try to entice a performance-minded buyer, but then neglects to include the sport options available from the factory... It's gonna sit for a while, since the average driver won't want it, and the "sporty" driver will want the 201a package or the ST. I myself would not buy it.

I wish my dealership would get back into modifying cars...but not like this.
This one could be much better. Caliper covers and drums, really? At least it's a manual.

They might as well could have made it the S model so it would be about 15k. That would make it worth it because it was so cheap. But without fogs and rear disc... kinda holds it back. Still a cool car though.

Is it just me or does it look like it's sitting a little high with Ford Racing suspension?

It looks about right. Seems to be about a 1"-1.2" drop. Looks perfect for me since I drive my car all day ij and out of parking lots.

If the car had the Ford Racing Exhaust wouldn't the kits exhaust tip be visable in the photos?
I think they just put a set of wheels on it and thats it.
