Phone holder mod on vent.
I made this from inspiration from lifehacker. Holds phone solidly. I also have same wallpaper on both phone and dash. Wiring comes from center console. Picture with pen shows where usb wiring comes out from. Hope you like it!

I have something similar that I made; I jerry-rigged a binder clip to a custom rotating mount that I already had and clamped the whole thing to the lip of the soft-touch dash to the left of the center screen.
My first attempt just included sticking the mount to the binder clip; it didn't last well and the clamp left a dent in the material from being stuck on for so long. I made two flat pieces against which the clip pinches now, so as to more evenly distribute the pressure to prevent pinching. The mount is also connected to the clip via a screw rather than adhesives so I can take the thing apart and remove the clip if necessary. I can post pics in a few days in another thread. I'm not sure my solution is universal to others given the unique nature of my mount (I bought it out-of-country), but I'm hoping that between you and me, we can spread unto others the great utility of the binder clip as mounts! =D |
