Record Fusion Sales Despite Recalls / Buyback Demands
Interesting article. Especially the buyback issue. A few '12 Focus owners have reported getting their car bought back...

Interesting that they said that recalls may actually make people think better of a company... thumbs up for Ford!

I didn't include Toyota because I think they have more recalls than anyone else now. Just recalled something like 750,000 2003/2004 Corollas for unexpected airbag deployment. Crazy! |

But toyota just took over the largest auto seller title from GM this year, so obviously the massive amount of recalls they had the last few years didnt hurt their image enough to make their sales drop drastically

Toyota has the advantage of millions of Americans who love to drive appliances. Ugly appliances. I'll never understand the allegiance, but it's strong. You can't swing a dead cat without hitting a Camry or Corolla around here.

The 1.6L Ecoboost in the Escape was rupturing its fuel line in the engine bay and catching on fire, hence the recall. Part shortages plauge the Ford system since the economic downturn many part providers went out of business.

IMO problems get exagerated due to the internet.
How many of thhe rants here seem to be trivial? The guy who is ranting he will sell the car unless the outside temp gauge works correctly? Gimme a break. Sure some cars have problems. The standard is every complainer repeats the complaint a hundred times.. The folks with no complaints never say a word. |

This is true when I bought my Escape I was reading all the issues on the Forum and thought off getting rid of it because all the issues. Then someone wrote that out of the thousands sold how many had issues. Will 12 yrs 190,000 miles and all I can say is it was great till 160,000 miles then a wheel bearing went ball joints tie rod ends. Not to bad I think. Now I think there is a bearing going in the transfer case..Probably going to get a new Escape next year
