ST Oil Change ?

So I turned 4000 miles on the Odometer today. Started to think about that first oil change and when the light might come on.

Anyone have the change the oil light come on in their ST yet and did you change your own oil and was it easy or a pain?

And what oil did you put in? I was thinking Mobile One like I put in my 2004 Vette.

Changing the oil is very easy, once you get the belly pan off. My Titanium didn't have that extra little 'spoiler' (curb feeler?) bolted on, so all it took was to drop a few bolts, slide the pan off and the drain plug & filter are right there in front of your face.

I'll be using Pennzoil Ultra & a Motorcraft filter.

I had a free oil change from the dealer from when I bought the car so I just brought it there. Was able to get full synthetic for free too!

I did it at 3800 miles.

I just changed mine at 3012 miles using a motorcraft filter and 5w30 full synthetic motorcraft oil. At 6k, I will send oil for analysis. Looked dark imo. 85% hwy granny driving 75%. 5.7 quarts. I was able to get the filter off by hand. Enjoy

I get a free one for mine and the dealer told me it's like 6000 or 8000 (I don't remember if it was 6or8000) miles with synthetic oil before you need to change it I was gunna do 6000miles, the 2012 Honda accord my dad had did 5000 before each oil change and that was with regular oil. I know it's not the same but just comparing it

I think I would only be concerned about fuel dilution. The oil is no longer responsible for cooling the turbo so they aren't as hard on oil as they used to be. 5K-7.5K is reasonable, depending on how much shearing took place from fuel dilution.

I agree....Here's what Mr. Ford says.....

472 Scheduled Maintenance
NORMAL SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE AND LOG
Intelligent Oil-Life Monitor®
Your vehicle is equipped with an Intelligent Oil-Life Monitor® that
determines when the engine oil needs to be changed based on how your
vehicle is used. By using several important factors in its calculations,
the monitor helps reduce the cost of owning your vehicle and reduce
environmental waste at the same time. This means you won’t have to
remember to change the oil on a mileage-based schedule; the vehicle
lets you know when an oil change is due by displaying ENGINE OIL
CHANGE DUE or OIL CHANGE REQUIRED in the information display.
The following table is intended to provide examples of vehicle use and
its impact on engine oil change intervals; it is provided as a guideline
only. Actual engine oil change intervals depend on several factors and
generally decrease with severity of use.

I changed my STs oil at 2.5k then again at 7.5k and never reset the oil monitor. It didn't come on until 10250 miles.

I typically get Mobil 1 but if something else is on sale I will get that.
