WTF is my car doing?

A few days ago, on my way home from work I get in my car and as I go to start the car, all of the lights on the dash and the displays in the cluster and radio flash for a second and nothing happens. I turn the key to the off position and try again and the same thing happens. I finally got the car started after I took my foot off of the clutch and tried to start the car again and thankfully it worked. However, all of the info from the trip computer had reset (trip length, average mpg, mileage left until empty, etc.).

On my way to work earlier that day it was acting weird also, like the lights didn't seem to be able to stay a uniform brightness, or at least they looked like they were flickering a little bit from the reflection off of the bumpers of the car ahead of me at stop lights.

Is this something serious that I need to bring the car in for or was this a one-off abnormality? What could have caused all of this? The car seems fine now, btw which is strange.

Id take it in anyways and ask for any TSBs or recalls that match this problem. and let them know it may not be re creatable but you want it fixed.

Sounds like the battery is dead or a connection is weak.
