2002 Sonic Blue SVT Back to life...
Well Boys and Girls...just thought i would send an update...

After 2.5 months my SVT focus Roars back to life...

It was not that bad boys...from what i hear and read here about the dreaded Timing Belt break, granted i did have to put a new head on but it came apart put it to TDC then bolted it all back together with a bunch of new hardware and after everything i closed my eyes and turned the key to hear it puuuuurrrrrrrr like a kitten...

Just wanted to say thank you to everyone that has posted helpful threads here though i did use plenty of them for reference and ya...Right on...were back from the dead...

only 79k on her and lots of life left in her...

Lets the good times roll...

No, there were a few tiny nicks in the top of the pistons where you could see the tapping of the valves on the exhaust side but nothing serious enough to denote repairing more...

I was able to find a good low mileage used head on craigslist and cleaned it up and installed it and put all new idlers, tensioners, belts, waterpump, and a full gasket kit for everything and bolted it all back together. and she roared to life...

its been 3 days now seems to run real smooth and no problems as of yet.

Awesome work! Just wondering how the belt broke in the first place? were you pushing it really hard or was it just a defect?
