Convert rear drums to discs? Possible??

Does anyone know if its possible to convert my rear drum brakes to disc brakes? I am no mechanic by any means so I was curious because I'd rather have the discs. The drums can be so noisy when I am backing up and its annoying. Any input would be appreciated.

Why are your drums noisy? If they make noise something is wrong.

I did this on my old car and I am pretty sure its possible on the 08-11 focus. Somebody posted about it not long ago, I am not sure if there is a kit or if one of the older kits can be used.

I would love to do it but for my old car it cost me $48 from the junk yard for both hubs. This would cost a little bit more.

its possible for sure, its just a matter of $.
and for your noisy drums its just brake dust, take off the outer hub and take a can of brake cleaner(safer) or take a can of compressed air or w/e and blow it out, PLS make sure to wear a good dust mask because you do not ever want to breath that in... and make sure your skin is covered and wash your clothes after.

Why yes, yes it is.

I did mine about 2 years ago, sadly there was a kit, but ford stopped making some of the parts in it so it has been discontinued. HOWEVER if you find a wrecked SVT or half gen ST then you can get the rear brake stuff off of it and transplant onto your car. That's what I did, my brake "kit" is off of a totaled 2003 SVT. A bunch of us 2nd gen guys have done it, there should be a how to on here someplace.

I am however having some trouble getting my parking break to work. Seems like no matter how hard I tighten the nut to the cable and how hard I lift, the rear disks just don't seem to want to pinch the brakes together. I haven't had a chance to look at it since the original install but plan on doing it soon. What fun is an E-brake if you can't use it to @$$ drag in the winter?

You think that is fun you should try them plastic trays from any fast food place put one under each rear tire pull e-brake and go lol hold on This is not safe but very fun

I have a conversion kit as well that i plan to install next year, but the ebrake issue is a big deal to me and I'm really just waiting to see what others are doing to ensure 100% functionality and safety.

ive heard 05-07 st will work but what about a zws brake setup work or one from a zts?

There is a website i have been looking at for the past week, and they have reasr brake conversion kits... about 1500$ from a company called k-sports. They have two kits, one says oem handbrake wont work. they other kits says it will. check it out if you want.
