Antenna rod broken on the threading piece
I have searched through this forum and found a few helpful posts, but I'm wondering if someone can give me a step-by-step walkthrough on how to fix this problem.
I have a 2002 Ford Focus ZTS and when I was brushing the snow off my car from the snowstorm, I accidentally broke my antenna. The mount is still intact, but the rod got snapped at the base (where the threading is). I see no way of getting it out, so I'm wondering if anyone knows which part it is and how to do it in step-by-step.Visual illustrations will be helpful, but not necessary. Again, my car is 2002 Ford Focus ZTS. Thanks guys! |

remove the dome light and you can then get to the nut that holds the base on. From there is pretty pretty self explanatory.
I dont know what the ford part number, but if you search ebay you should be able to find one for around $10-15 bucks.

that is exactly how I broke mine!
The base is available from your Ford dealer for about ten to fifteen bucks if I remember correctly. They'll also be happy to sell you an antenna mast for $40, but I found an identical off-the-shelf generic one at Autozone for $10, which gives as good FM reception as the original one.

Broke mine twice already.
Now when I go to the salvage yard, I grab extras. Why spend almost 20 bucks a piece when you can get them for next to nothing. |

...after a couple of more Wausau winters, you're gonna realize that they made the whole dang car from that same grade of metal.
