Rear wheel drive svt

Does anyone know how much it would cost me if I was to get an svt and make it rear wheel drive? I could do all the work pretty much, just want to know if there is a kit for this and how much it would cost. Thanks everyone, I'm just thinking about it.

theres no ''kit'' anymore kugels used to make a chasis for a v8 conversion. but to make it rqd youd have to do a lot o cutting and welding and custom lines and brackets running. big head ache unless your 100 percent commited to it all and don't get easily frusterated like me lol

Lol. I would be down for it, but is it possible to do it with out putting a v8 engine, but keeping the svt engine?

Not totally sure. Somehow you'd have to weld new points in the engine bay for motor mounts and. Maybe a ranger transmission?

Ranger trans wouldn't work. You would need a trans off a all wheel drive four cylinder like the escape possibly. If you wanted to put the engine in longitudinally you could use something along the lines of S2k drivetrain probably.

find out what the locost 7 guys are doing with their zetec engines and follow that. its cheaper to do your own. the kugel thing was what, 20-25k?

you can use a T5 trans from the 79-93 mustangs and a bellhousing from Quad4Rods.com to mate it to the SVT engine. You'll need to make custom mounts, coolant lines, powersteering lines, relocate the steering rack, make a custom subframe/K-frame to clear the driveshaft, swap your front knuckles right and left to get the tie-rod tabs facing forward, etc. etc. etc.

It's basically identical to a v8 conversion, just without swapping the motor....just turning it sideways but the amount of fab work involved is exaclty the same. Check out DiscipleRocks's v8 build thread to get an idea what's involved.

If you could FIND a Kugel front steering kit and Kugel 8.8 rear end kit, you'd just need to fab a driveshaft, source the trans and Quad4Rods adaptor, and re-do all the lines/wiring to accomodate the motor being turned.
