Steeda Shielded CAI vs. NONShielded CAI

hey guys I've been doing my research and looking around on the forum. I'm looking at buying the Steeda CAI, I loved the one I had on my 2000 and 2003 ZX3. But looking at them and seeing I have two options on shielded and the other not. Is the shield really worth the almost 100 bucks more? I've read the fitment is kinda sketchy. I do alot of sheet metal fab work so i feel i can most likely make something, but would gladly spend the money if the quality is really nice.

Thanks

Adam

The shield on mine fits perfectly and sits really flush with the bottom of the hood. Everything fit really nicely too, which made install a breeze.

Fittment is tight but for good reason so it can seal against the hood. Which helps heat from going in the intake

Thanks for the insight guys, I went with the shielded one and love it. It was really nice quality and like how well it fits.
