Should be heat gun and plastic scraper.

Why are we tinting the front glass?

It gets awfully bright with snow glare in Fargo? I know I would like to lightly tint mine but don't feel like going through the hassle and possible free invitation to be hassled by the fuzz (no tinting of the front windshield outside of the the top few inches of it here in ohio.) I could probably do an 80ish percent up there and no one would notice but oh well.

My tint shop actually had a little disclaimer if you were having them do the front strip, that they wouldnt be responsible if the mirror fell off/came loose. I guess their liquid they use to apply the tint can loosen it up/remove it.

For removing the mirror (what I'm assuming your asking), there is a little clip on the bottom. Push that and the mirror should slide along the windshield in an upward motion until it is completely off the mounting block. It can slide hard but it's relatively simple.

Wait. This^

I thought you where removing it entirely. The mirror comes of pretty easy with a little mount left behind.

I'm considering tinting my entire front glass to like 50%. The glare in winter is bad, the glare in summer is worse, and theres more d-bags with hids in stock headlights than there are snowflakes in your average blizzard. but for now i'm just doing an 8-10 inch strip on the top, and the mirror is like 6 inches down so I need it off to complete this task lol

I do appreciate the snow jokes though lol. But it's funny because it's 50 degrees right now, and no snow, and almost december

I did the outside of mine with about 8-10" of vinyl, then did a small strip of tint inside. That way, I didn't have to worry about the mirror anchor.

only problem there is scraping ice in the winter, as I park outside. and if it's covered in frost i'd be afraid of hitting it with the metal scraper and tearing it to shreds

I've done that. But I buy a matte black roll for about $8.00 at Michaels Craft store. It hasn't faded at all and I just redo every couple of years. It takes about 20 minutes to redo it.
