oil pan
so i discovered a tiny leak under the car today.....of course a few days after i pumped $50 worth of synthetic oil in there:( i noticed the pan was wet with oil prior to the oil change....just wondering if the oil pan off the z-tec is the same as the svt? thanks!!

just a dumb question, why a pan?
Did you hit something with it? (I've got a damp pan to deal with I noticed on the last oil change, but it looks like the O-ring that seals the dipstick tube is the culprit....) |

didn't hit anything(that i know of)...last year i noticed a lot of rust on it. tried to clean it all off and coated it with high temp paint. crawled under last week to do the oil change and noticed a lot of rust and oil on the bottom of the pan, not leaking from up top by the gasket or coming from the drain plug.

Ahhh... OK
Seen it more often on differentials, but I've heard of steel pans giving up as well.... Gets real "crusty" and starts seeping.... |
