Input on Build
Hey guys!
A guy came over to look at my Yamaha R6 tonight, he was very interested and didn't even try to talk me down in price. He took the paperwork home to fill out and wants to meet Tuesday for the sale. Anyways, this means I will have $4k cash to play with, and that means the new car will get it's much needed makeover. Here is my car: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The modifications I plan on doing: 3D Carbon Body kit: $520 shipped (painting will be done by me) Yes I ripped this picture off here! ![]() Rims: $533 Shipped (Sparco Drifts) ![]() Tinted Windows: $175 Lowering Springs: $195 shipped (Eibach) Your input is appreciated on how you think it will look. I also need help deciding whether to leave the mirror caps black, or paint them blue with the body kit, and whether to leave the grille chrome or to also paint that blue.

good planning so far.
I would say paint the mirrors too match. as far as the grill, i'm not a fan of chrome, but it does flow well with the lights as is. I would say if you're thinking of painting the grill (body or black would look good) then open the headlights and paint them as well. already been opened once for the restro so what's one more time. Another thought; how about getting the coupe bumpers? I saw the Eibach springs, but are you doing the pro kit or sportlines? also do you plan on doing dampers and alignment parts? since the pro kit is just over an inch drop you can prolly get away with just stock toe adjustment in the rear, but the sportlines will need more adjustment than that to keep them from eating your tires. they also will detroy the stock dampers pretty quick as well.

The grille will look great in blue!
Those wheels will look tacky though.

The bumper don't really bother me, I actually like the sedan one. Yeah this is where it's difficult. I want a complete coil over kit, but I do not want to drop a grand on that alone. But I also don't want a HUGE gap like the cars come with, it looks like we have lift kits... Quote:

My second choice which costs a bit more would be these: ![]() Those are sick then these ones also have my eye for $569 shipped

i would personally go for the 3d carbon kit and lowering kit not just springs. i had the frpp kit but switched to h&r coils and haven't looked back. If you can afford it I would do intake and exhaust. not feeling the wheels you posted personally but that's just my opinion.

Peeps have been busy lately lol. give em a little time to post up.
My reccomendations are: 1. Black out the headlights some. Too much chrome always kills the look for me, and I think blacked out it would look evil/amazing. 2. Blackout or colormatch the grille. 3. 3d Carbon Kit (like you posted, but paint the rear diffuser part black, looks meaner) 4. those sparco wheels you posted 5. FSWerks Stealth catback exhaust 6. Slam it. 7. Make girls moist.

. . . . EDIT: Just picked up a new 3d carbon kit for $442 shipped! Quote:
Thanks for the idea of painting the diffuser. Why is this one different? Coupe version? Or is that painted too? Hard to tell... ![]() The first mod is going to be springs, in the next few days and I don't know what to get. I don't want to completely kill my stock suspension... But I want to rid most of the wheel gap. This would be perfect (stole from another thread) ![]()

What else can I do guys?
I will get the 3D carbon kit in a few days. Buying the paint for it thursday. (body kit, mirror caps and grill) Getting the windows tinted Saturday. Still deciding on lowering springs. Gonna grab a stubby antenna. (I don't use radio) Also tempted to pull the silver dash panels off and paint them body color. That might be too overwhelming though. |
