Rear alloy wheels stuck

Was trying to take the back wheels off the car, to make it easier to add some mud guards. Got the lugnuts off, but the wheel wouldn't budge.

Is this kinda normal? or did I miss something special? I did have the eBrake on, since I was just working on the front, and had it jacked up, and then forgot about it, when i jacked up the rear of the car.

Factory allow wheels, and drum brakes in the rear.

I ended up getting the mud guards on anyway, and just didn't mess with the wheels anymore.

It's normal for a wheel to be stuck on if it hasn't been removed for a while.

I use a rubber mallet on the inner rib to knock it off the hub.

its just a little corrosion causing the wheel to stick to the hub.

give it a big 'ol donkey kick.

make sure the car is on jack stands so it don't come tumbling down.

I took fellow member Geezer's advice and started putting a little oil on a rag, and wiping the inside of the wheel hub to prevent it from sticking.

Yeah a trick you can use is take lug nuts off, then tighten them a few thread then lower the car fairly fast and then if you hear it POP you can jack it back up and it should be loose. if not while on the ground rock the car back and forth and that should help

Or leave one lugnut on by a few threads and kick/punch/hammer/etc... Then you don't have an errant wheel & tire bouncing around damaging stuff.

12 inch long piece of 2X4, put it against tire on backside and hit with a baby sledge on the wood.

The wheel corrodes on the pilot in the center, the tolerance is pretty close. Use antiseize on the pilot area and they come off easier.

pretty common... called galvanic corrosion and it occurs between two dissimilar metals. just kick the crap out of it lol.
