Rich bank one P0172 code and poppy exhaust
I have a 03 SVT with 107k on her and I can't manage to kill the P0172 code. When I bought her at 88k I was told it had a full tune up done and O2 sensor and knock sensor changed when the timing belt and water pump were changed at 87k. Recently she started feeling tired and my gas mileage dropped from 23 to about 20 so I pulled a spark plug at 105k and seen it was all burnt up so I replaced them with the E3 plugs and I noticed she felt a little better but the new plugs still didn't fix the bog below 2500 rpm. Now I'm hearing the exhaust being more poppy than it was before and at lower rpm too. Does anyone have any ideas what my next course of action should be?

I wouldnt run any other plugs than oem replacement motor craft platinums or coppers. Ford didnt tune your car for those high performance plugs and this causes issues. Also it seems like the O2 sensors break pretty easily from clearance issues.

Probably need to get it re-tuned. If all they did was load in the stock tuners tune, then that would be part of the problem of the bog. The Standard tuners tune bumps up the top end a bit more but takes away a bit of your torque at the start of your rpms. But even Stock SVTs had some bog at the beginning.
Tunes fix that, if they are probably tuned. Did the last owner give you the tuner with the purchase? If so, find Tom on here and PM him. Ask him to help you with the tune for your car. Not to pricey, and will help you with some of your performance issues. -Ray-

I wouldnt call the E3 a high performance plug and sure wouldnt put them in anything I own
Like mentioned if you have the flash device for your SVT I will be glad to look at a datalog and see if we can find what the problem is With issues like this is where a datalog is worth its weight in gold Tom
