Add muffler to aftermarket exhaust

I'm looking at doing some performance mods to my Mk3. The first might be the fswerks stealth exhaust. I'd be doing it for hp, not sound. If it turns out to be too loud for me, could I add on an additional muffler to quiet it down and still get my performance boost?

You would have to turn it into a right exit exhaust probably, not a lot of room for an extra muffler in their design.

You could always replace their muffler or resonator with something larger to bring the sound level down. Adding a muffler would take a bit more tweaking.

Awesome! It looks like you had to weld it together. That's probably the only option, right? Did you get the sound down well enough and do you still have a performance increase?

Yes my buddy modified/welded it in for me. Any decent muffler shop could do it for you. Def increase in performance, I also added the in-take. Actually sounds awesome now, little deeper tone with added muffler.

A resonator would help to quiet without restriction. You've gotta watch out that adding a muffler, depending on design, could create restriction and reduce power some...
