Disable check engine light.

I bought this car about a month ago. I ran a scanner on it and pulled and reset the codes. I have not seen the check engine light come on yet. The manual says that it should come on momentarily when you start the car, I haven't seen it.

Is there a way to disable the CEL? A fuse or something perhaps?

Thanks.

maybe it's been on long enough to have burnt out the bulb.

The bulb was taken out. I just checked. I geuss the previous owner took it out because of a cam timing code. One more reason to get on that timing belt replacement.

Thanks.
