thermostat housing problems
i have the 2004 svt focus as you know its the 2.0 engine code 5 and i have searched everywhere for the housing, it has major cracking on the bottom and inside from being the orginal one. i have the sensor and the cork on it but every housing i look at or go to buy is plugged and dont know what to do about the sensor please help me i am new to this site thank you all..

I just did a quick search in the vendors section. You could check the others for pricing. I have a regular Zetec, so I never had look around. Also, every single Zetec has the t-stat housing crack or leak eventually.

The cfm one is your best bet. There have been others on development but nothing has surfaced as of yet.

Check with Steve at Tousley Ford, they have the upgraded ford product for around $100. I think that includes new sensor, bolts, thermostat, and updated housing. There are several posts over the years with this information if you search it out.

I bought and installed cfm thermostat...a+...thicker and Im sure it will last forever.

The housing from a 2000 contour with the ZETEC engine will work! It is the housing that Steve at Tousley Ford tracked down that is a stronger design. I just found one in a u pull it yard for $10 today!
