60$$ Premium Oil Change by Dealer!!!

Is this normal? My dealer said the usual oil change is 119.99 but now they have a "special" for ONLY 59.99. I feel like I'm getting robbed..

I hope they bought you dinner first, because that's a good Fg. Please tell me that was at least for full-synthetic oil.

What is "premium" about the oil change besides the price?

Why aren't you changing your own oil?

Full synthetic is $35-$42 for a 5 quart jug, 20 minutes is worth half the cost every time.

The reason I take mine in is so that my oil changes are documented with the dealer so I can prove that they have been done on schedule. That way if I resell it or if a warranty issue comes up my butt is covered. Is it a waste of money? probably

This.

And I don't need to dispose of it either or risk making a mess in the driveway. We also don't put a lot of miles on our cars so 2-3 oil changes per year.

BTW - the VW takes 6+ quarts of full synthetic. $86 at the stealership. I believe the Audi's cost $110.

I HATE VW dealerships. There is never standardized pricing even by dealerships owned by the same company. I've had quotes for a DSG fluid change from $389 to $900. They have forced me to do everything myself. The plus side is that I now have more knowledge and tools. Two things that you can never have enough of.

In GA you can get a 5 qt. jug of Mobil 1 at Wally World for around $25 :)
