(Non Focus Thread) F150 Ecoboost Dyno Pulls

I copied this from my post on the F150 forums but to explain to some of you guys what I have. I did a stock pull, and then installed an AFE Stage 2 Cold air intake, and after that I did a pull with the intake and a canned 93 octane tune from SCT.

The SCT tune only increases boost by 1.5-2 lbs and the rest id just magic! The truck is very strong and hopefully soon I will get it to the track. Another member on the forums did a 15s flat in the 1/4 mile,

My trucks specs are: 3.5L Ecoboost 4x4 SuperSCREW, 6.5 ft bed,157" wheelbase, 3.73 gears.

Ok let me start....These Dynos were done on dynojet Dyno. On the same day, intakes were swapped out in between runs as well as the tune was changed between runs.

I was surprised by the results and still not real sure what to say with regards to the actual numbers. My truck would kick out on the stock tune at 4750 rpm, it did that on 4 different pulls in 4th gear. Not sure if it was a speed limiter or traction control. The Hp was still climbing so Id be curious to see if the results would have been different for the intake in the higher rpms.

I still love my AFE intake and think it allows the truck to breathe a lot better, but doesn't show the gains I thought. It was also very difficult to start pulls lower then 2000-2500, the truck would again to some odd things.

But these results show some interesting things.

Immediatly after rolling my truck off the dyno a guy put his (and forgive me bc I cant remember if it was a Nova or Chevelle) and made right at 400hp and 400 ftlbs of torque. He had a 454 crate motor with cast iron heads. It was loud but I made more torque!

wow they must be under-rating those by a lot! 315/375 is pretty nice with all that drivetrain loss

ill bet it was hitting the limiter on the stock tune

Were up to 417 hp and 508 tq with one in the shop , we found that lower air fuel (low 11`s from WOT on 2500) didnt loose any HP and was needed when you started doing long OD pulls
Doing some 4 inch Exh , changing a few other things then going bigger turbo later when the final tuning software comes out

Thats awesome to hear Tom. Im curious what all else you guys have done....have you posted anything on any of the truck forums? So many guys were pissed about the intake but i never expected much out of it....but it cant hurt but to help those turbos breath.

Those are great # for no more then he has done , the SCT tunes realy add a lot to the HP/TQ

I dont know if my customer posted or not I will ask him and see , he some how found a pull out engine and ts being shipped to me and were going to do a built engine , I think this thinge will do 600HP with out a lot of work , Lentech is already working on a trans

There soooo darn heavy and MPG sucks on them , and what were doing it isnt getting any better LOL

You might already know this but Motor Trend put one of those on a dyno back in their Oct. 2011 issue and they also mentioned the problems getting the truck to work right on the dyno. They ended up disconnecting the rear wheel speed sensor's. Something about the ecm wouldn't allow things to work right with the front wheels stationary.
