I'm not familiar with the Raleigh area. Last time I went there was when I went on a field trip in like 5th grade lol.

What do you like to eat? One thing you should make sure you get is some Carolina BBQ. It is pulled pork with a vinegar based sauce. I would likely start a war if I were to say who had the best, but if you haven't had it before there is probably no wrong answer. Smithfield's Chicken & BBQ would be a good idea as there are a large number of them.

Try Smokeys BBQ, 10800 Chapel Hill Road, Morrisville, NC. It's close to the airport and is always packed at lunch time. Been there for quite awhile so it's nothing to look at but the BBQ is great. But Smithfields is good too, and like the man says there are a lot of them around.

The Mellow Mushroom is great for Pizza, several around the area, Neo China on Glenwood Ave (Hwy 70) is good Asian food.
