Turbo or new focus?

What's up guys just wanted some opinions on what to do, so I'm thinking of either buying a 2013 focus st (2.0 turbo) when it's out later this year or just installing internals on my 2004 (2.3L) and getting the fswerks stage 2 turbo kit. What do you guys think (FYI my car is paid off)?

Turbo. Especially since your car is paid off. I don't have mine Turbocharged YET, but I have been in two of them and it is like driving a totally different car. You will wonder why you didn't save up for it sooner. I am still saving for it :)

I 2nd, 3rd or 4th that=== Turbo your car rod's/piston's & Fwerk's stage 2 w/ a GT 28RS/ diverter/blow-off fst1022/ boost controller e-boost(street) dual stage. Don't forget a torsen either. Hit up Randy @ Fwerk's. When is that new ST coming out? Who know's? Does the new ST come w/ a torsen, naw! You will find it a lot more fun to Mod your own car w/o the big monthly stroke's.

I say the new ST focus it comes with a turbo and it looks good

You guys are right, I mean the new focus is sick but my car is paid off. Thanks for the input guys! That's all I needed, turbo with internals on the 04 it is! 2.3l fully built turbo focus coming soon!!!

I say sell the focus and get something newer.

Reason being

1. your car is 8 years old
2. your car doesn't have a LSD, and if its stick, the clutch probably cant handle the power, if its auto, you are losing a huge amount of HP.
3. turbocharging your car in CA is technically illegal, and you can be forced to remove it.
4. you wont pass smog, you will have to take the turbo off every few years.
5. Since your car isnt built for it, you will undoubtedly come across problems that you will have to troubleshoot, this takes time and money.


Ive been in the same boat as you, im at a point where I can finally start getting serious about F/I, but after seeing a few used mazdaspeed3s with ~40k on the market for $18k, i have a hard time justifying loading a ton of money into a car that even modded will have a hard time keeping with a speed3.



I dont know if the new ST is going to be the best choice for another car, but in the case of wise decisions, i cant justify spending the money on a turbo,
