2012 Wheels Bolt Pattern/Offset
Anyone know the offset for stock 2012 wheels, or a range that's allowable? I know the pattern is 5-108, but couldn't find any solid info on offset.
Long story short I'm putting snow tires on in the winter and am looking for cheap alloy wheels in the meantime. I'm also curious to know how thin I can/should go, or if I should stick with stock wheel sizes. I was planning on running thinner wheels as I've heard they are significantly better then thin ones in snow. Probably not so much on ice...but I don't think it really matters much between sizes unless you're running studs. Anyways, how can I figure out what wheel/tire sizes will work with my vehicle to ensure the speedo still reads correctly and the offset won't cause clearance issues? Also if anyone knows other vehicles that use wheels compatible with the 2012 focus, post it up...so I can be on the lookout for those specific wheels. |

I thought I read somewhere the offset was 55 or so.

EBAY has stock wheels on there. Bolt pattern is 5x108, offset is +50 for 16 and 17 inch wheels, offset is +55 on 18 inch wheels. You can also go to Tirerack.com. Also on ebay, look up volvo wheels, it is another option, they are not that expensive! Sounds like you are in the same boat as me, I still haven't decided on wheels, I HATE the steel wheels with caps!
Good Luck!! |

EDIT: And I hate the stock 16" steelies/caps too. I'll be listing them here for anyone wanting them for winter tires. I'm sure that SOMEBODY likes them!

I'm definitely interested in take offs if someone is selling...depending on price of course. Tire Rack has them for $58/each (16 x 6.5), which seems a bit steep...although after some research seems like a decent price.

Does anyone know the acceptable range of offset a different wheel can have? I'd like to find out before buying wheels and finding they don't fit...I'm looking for real cheap so I don't have the luxury of getting exactly what I want.

Joey,
I was also concerned about fitment issues because I wasn't 100% sure the Volvo XC90 wheels would fit my car. Fortuneately, the stars aligned for me in that I had to go to Ohio in May for a Mustang track rental, and Thompson Raceway was within an hour distance from Blackburn Wheels, in Macedonia, OH. I called ahead and spoke with Becky, who was VERY helpful. We scheduled for me to drive out in my Focus (yes, I took my Focus to a Mustang event!). Once at Blackburn, they allowed me to test fit the wheels I had pre-selected from their inventory. I had picked out 5 wheels to choose from, and went with the first one they pulled from inventory. Long-story-short, I needed to ensure that not only the offset was correct for the Volvo wheels, but I needed to make sure that the center bore of the Volvo wheel was large enough to go over the Focus wheel hub. I wanted something different in terms of wheel design, and the 6-spoke pattern has really grown on me.

This might be a slight necrobump, but on the subject of the stock wheels (specifically, the painted/machined 17 inch ones),, does anyone know, given the 5x108 (?) bolt pattern, what is the thread sizing needed for locking wheel lugs? I'd like to get a set to keep those rims on there, not just for looks but to prevent them from getting nicked by some hoodie.
