2012 Glovebox Slot

In the inside of the 2012 glovebox, there is a slot in the door that looks like you could stand a credit card up in, and there is a hook next to it that looks like you could click a thick pen into.

Anyone have ideas on what these are for?

Maybe to stand a credit card in it and hold a thick pen.

Doesn't the owners manual say anything about it?

I know the Mk1 had a clip to attach the owner's manual to...

Me and my wife are trying to figure it out also. A pen doesn't fit because I tried with a few different ones. I thought maybe insurance info would fit nicely, but it just slid to the back of the glovebox.

on another note, the amount of stuff you can put in there is amazing.
