SVT seats or stock

I got a set of SVT seats for fairly short change.

After cleaning them up the driver seat is showing some wear at the seat section and lower back section.

Now I am tossed as to leaving the stock seat in or putting in the SVT seats.

Interior is light gray and seats are red/black. Car exterior is black.

Test fitting the SVT seat. tell me what you think.

hmmm they are pretty dirty... reupholster them. idk how to spell it... lol

I cleaned them.

The black you see on the seat portion is where it is worn.

Also my stock seats are basically the same shape with the side bolsters and all.

Side note: whats up with your door panel inserts, like whats on the top part of them? They look different than stock ones.

ive seen those trim bits on other early zx3's. think it only came on the 00 and 01's. My 01 had them. cool silver streak

It is an '01. The silver strip is a plastic bit over the top of the inserts and is 100% stock.

The 01 Stock seats are shaped exactly like the SVT ones with 3 exceptions. The rear adjust is click and not a variable twist. Stock has no lumbar. The leg section on the SVT is a bit longer than the stock seat.

No side airbag hookups on the 01. The 01 just has 2 front airbags. I would have to run power for the SVT seat heaters and butt rise as stock seat is non heated and 100% manual.

I am thinking of keeping the stock seats in. The wear on the SVT driver seat is kind of bugging me and the 01 does not have a 2 part rear butt section like the SVT and I feel it would be unsafe if anyone sits in the rear and something happens. And I got layed off days after buying these.

Someone at some point also told me the light gray interior on black was kind of rare. Any info on that?

SVT seats are always cool, but honestly I like the stock ones in your application.

I like SVT's more, but condition is always the selling point for me, use the ones in best shape. I would get distracted by the wear spots, if it were me.

I would go with the most comfortable seats. I know nothing about the stock seats in your car, but I do know the SVTs are a huge improvement over stock 05 seats. Theyn are infinitely adjustable, so you can adjust them to suit the task at hand (highway, twisties, auto-X, etc) Do the air bag wires on the SVTs match up with the stock wiring? Does an air bag light fail you in NH? Have fun.
