hey friends. ive been trying to get the j&s to work for days now. and i cant get it to work. ive read the threads up and down both here and fj and cant figure out the problem. the only thing i could think of is maybe the knock sensor is bad.Or i used a vampire tap for pin57 and maybe i need to hard wire it? I have looped the ground. I emailed john and j&s but i want to see if you guys have any ideas?

when i do the test nothing happens the led doesn't light up so i thought maybe i wired it wrong double checked everything looks correct. i did use a 16 gauge wire to ground the second ground wire thats with the clear wire,even though its a 14 gauge maybe thats the problem? its either that or bad j&s or knock sensor

And you plugged the vacuum/boost line?

How are you testing it? Sitting still and having someone rev the engine while you tap on the block?

yeah i set the first two white switches up turn the sensitivity all the way up and had someone tap the bolt near the starter that goes into the block, at 2000 rpms

Well it doesnt do anything if its in a vacuum. So for testing purposes have you blocked off the vacuum source?

oh no, so i have to plug the vacum input on the j&s? to test it? im a little confused now tom said not to hook it up to a vacuum line ever, so the j&s will never be experiencing vacuum.

plug it or just unplug the vac line they will both do the same thing. Just make sure you stop up the vac line so you dont have a vac leak.
