Finally made it to the dragstrip
Well, finally made it out to the drag strip this past weekend and the best time of the day was a 8.5 in the 1/8th mile and that was with a 2.099 60' time. I think I can get it down to an 8.3 with a bit more practice. The car was a bit rich at around 10.2-10.3 so maybe Tom can lean it out a bit more so I can drop it down by another 10th or so. Do any of you guys have a hard time shifting from 2nd to 3rd? It seems that quite a few times it didn't want to go into 3rd gear.

i have a hard time going from 1st to 2nd from time to time. that is quite a respectable time on a 1/8th track. what mods a made to your engine?

I have a Focus Power built motor and Xios custom turbo kit with a Garrett GT2871R. I generally launch the car at 16psi and then switch to high boost (22psi) once I get into 2nd gear.

ahhh i see. i bet you spin like hell the whole way down the track. thats kind of scary seeing how close i am to you with a basically stock engine on spray. the only difference between us is that you have your power on tap all the time. if i want mine i have to park the car, get out walk around back of the car, remember that i didnt pop the hatch, walk back to the front, push the button, walk back around and open the hatch, open the tank, shut the hatch, walk around and sit back down in the car, change my tune with my xcal, have a smoke, and then i can use it. i envy you lol

LOL............if I can only get my 60' down to your 1.7 I should hit an 8.0-8.2 pretty easily. What kind of power are you putting down with the spray?

dunno yet. havent gotten any dyno time with it. that 8.7 pass was on a 100 shot without a tune. i turned my fuel pressure up as high as it would go and retarded my timing and kept a close eye on the A/F gauge. it ran good until i ripped the bolts out of the transmission that hold the bracket which holds the dogbone mount. just curious. what size are the tires you're running. i saw that they were hoosiers on 15x7.5 slipstreams. what size are those tires exactly? any rubbing? i have 18x7.5's with 225x45s and there is less than half of an inch of clearance

so the wider wheels and tires actually completely fit inside the fender? the rs fenders are widebody i guess?
