How To Make A Heat Shield For A Shorty Intake

How To Make A Heat Shield For A Shorty Intake (original from TeamFocus)

Basically the only thing you need to change is the overall length- measure from the center of the strut tower (the bolt) to approximately where it lines up with the boot on your filter, then add 1".

I've found the easiest way to do this is to cut out some pieces of carboard and make exact templates, the use those to cut out the pieces from the piece of aluminum.

You'll want some sheet aluminum, I'm not sure exactly what size but I think it's like 40 guage. It's about the thickness of the cardboard off a cereal box. You can get this at most metal shops. Make sure you get a big enough piece.
