Sorry for the Newb question but how do these tubular A-arms make your car any faster? Is the weight difference between the stocks and these significant?

They make your car faster by maintaining proper wheel/tire and suspension geometry which improves consistency and reduces rolling resistance caused by deflection of factory control arms and rubber bushings. In drag racing this means better 60' times due to improved and more consistent contact of tire with ground, no wheel hopping and less tire resistance during acceleration. In autocross / road racing maintaining proper suspension geometry during cornering and braking means better control and greater consistency which yields better lap times.
