Hi can you help. I have a 2000 focus and the EML won't go off. The radiator fans stay on and the temperature gauge doesn't go up.
Also I've had a problem with hesitation when accelerating.
And Clues would be great

Hi, All.

I've been a Focus owner for quite a while, and I've lurked here a lot when I've had questions (this forum always turns up in my Google searches!), and have gotten a lot of good information that was already posted. Now that I actually need to post a question, I guess it's time to register and introduce myself.

I have a red 2004 Focus ZX3 that I bought "certified used" in 2005 with about 6000 miles on it. I have the Zetec 2.3L engine, manual transmission, manual doors and windows. It's made a trip 2/3 of the way across the country and back, suffered various minor dings and bumps, and about a year ago was "totaled" when I got sandwiched in rush hour traffic, leaving me with no AC and a rear hatch that is a bit tricky to close securely. It's got over 258,000 miles, and I hate to give it up.

I'm hoping for some good, concrete suggestions that can be carried out by someone with few tools and less time to address my diagnostic challenge.

:-)

Hey everybody -

Just purchased a Focus that happened to be a very good deal, just needs a new slave cylinder line. I used to drive a 94 Escort, but the engine blew (a valve decided to hang out with one of the cylinders), so that forced me to get a new car but it should be for the better, the Focus seems to be a much more of a car. I've been lookin around the site for a little while and I've already learned quite a bit, and I'm sure that will continue. Besides being into cars, I'm also a fanatic about bikes, and I've had my 500 for a few years now, but unfortunately that has to go also.

Anyways, thanks again for the site and keep up the good work!
