SVT Seat Switcheroo

The more I see the SVT seats (standard I think, not the Recaros) the more I like them. I am referring to the black ones with the blue cloth inserts. Before I seriously consider poking around for them or even devoting a lot of time to wishing I had them, I was wondering how difficult it would be to put them into a ZX3?
I would probably do both fronts and rear since it would look foolish otherwise, so does anyone know if they directly bolt up? If not, is it a complicated extraction and replacement procedure or more a matter of pulling the brackets from the donor SVT? Lastly, do the rear ones fold down like my current ones (I dont see why they wouldn't, but who knows)? Any help you guys have would be greatly appreciated, and if you're coincidentally looking to ditch these particular seats, I know an interested buyer... thanks in advance!

I'm not sure how to attach a Gallery picture into the thread, especially one that's not mine, so if the link doesn't work, my bad. Oh yeah, can anyone tell me what that little thing is on the drivers seat, near the timestamp, looking like a catch or handle of some sort?

Those are the standard SVT seats. You would need to do some fabricating to get the seat heaters to work if they're heated.

Say I found the seats, and they have the heated option, but I dont feel like splicing to make them heat up, just want them in the car... are the seat attachments compatible among Foci? I ask because I've heard with racing seats you usually (always?) need a special bracket for them, but these look fairly similar to my bucket seats.

Just thought of something, does the SVT have power seats? That could possibly present an issue...

I have wondered this myself. But I'd like the ones with the red inserts.

no the svt foci does not have power seats but they are heated im not sure about the seat swap call your local ford dealer they should be able to tell you that. and hey if they will work i have some red and black i may want to part with cause im thinking of going custom interior soon. (its all i really have left to do besides forced induction)

yes they will bolt right in. unbolt the whole assembly from the floor and change them out. How could they not fit? they use the same friggen car!!

True vanace, but ya just never know (rather be safe than sorry)... so I'd just have to unhook my seats and pop the new ones in... well looks like I have a new project to hunt for. Anyone parting with the blue seats? And could someone explain what that plastic thing is in the Gallery pic?

Ashley, go for it! I think they'd look nice in your car (in red)... then you can tell me how tough it was j/k, if I do this I'll post something about it for anyone interested in the swap.

The driver's side on my SVT has power up/down. Heat too on both.
