17's ?? 215-40-17 works pretty well
225-45-17 will probably rub most likely
i prefer a 215-45-16 , 205-50-15, and i would't mind trying a 225-45-15[thumb][race]
What ever you do dont get 225/50s mine rub so hard in auto cross im buying a set of 16s and im prolly gonna put 225/45s on those but idk if they will rub or not. any ideas or anyone use those on track
The 215/40-17 (Z1 StarSpec) is a great choice for the SVT. Its a little shorter and will help the gearing...and fits nice on a 7" wheel. It also has a stiffer sidewall than most of the other Uber Street Tires--and that helps a FWD car like the Focus (read; nose-heavy)as well.
Not on an SVT--unless you get some hard-to-find wheels; also, a 205 is really too narrow to be effective on a 2700 pound car. The 215 is too, but they tend to run closer to a 225 than a 205. The 225s, especially on the SVT, are all kind of tall and the last thing that car needs is more gear...it already goes plenty fast in 2nd. A 225/40-17 would be a good choice too, but is not made in an Uber Street Tire tire. A 235/35-17 R1R would be an interesting choice, if some wider wheels were used. A 225/45-16 R1R would also be an interesting choice...
^Bigger side wall and smaller width.. Im not sure but They sure would look cool..
I say 275/40/15s Race tires
