Buy one and let me know how much it will cost you to "try" to finally make it work and how long it takes until your engine blows. I'll be here to say "I told you so."
You will spend as much, or more, than a legitimate kit for the focus.
Please look at the kits in the REAL used kits Buy-Sell section and the kits from our sponsors.
He most definitely says it's an eBay turbo. He said price of the car plus the turbo kit was in the $5k range. I've seen that vid prolly 3 or 4 times. No way to verify if he's making it up, but it would be funny/impressive.
I mustve missed if he said "ebay" in the vid. He couldve easily bought a used proper kit for 1500-2k too. his dump tube i think it was, looks like its made from that flex exhaust stuff you get as local auto parts stores like pep or murrays

hey come on now...... a former coworker of mine said he had a cousin's friend with a turbo civic that turns 1000rpms and pops wheelies. I'm sure it probably had an ebay turbo kit on it too.

Actually...that Dtec kit isn't half bad, haha. The I/C pipes are actually *pre-bent* and one pipe has a MAF flange. I'm not telling anyone to buy it...but that would technically bolt on unlike the crappy Zetec kits with universal pipe kits and no downpipe.
I have to agree the new duratec kit is worth looking into , you cant blanket all ebay turbo kits as bad on ebay there are some good turbo parts for sale on there
It looks like it's configured for draw-through MAF, but I went back and looked at more pics and...the I/C pipes are actually quite well done. I'm impressed for how cheap that kit is. The manifold looks to be cast iron so it probably won't fall apart in 1k miles. One of the VERY FEW halfway decent things I've seen on eBay. I wouldn't run that turbo, though. Don't forget, the kit doesn't come with injectors, tuning, etc.
Not trying to say don't buy from FSWerks or Top Speed. Their kits are top notch and it's a better idea to go with them, 100%.
#1 isnt close to right but its on my friends car making 220 on an atx ill get some pictures when i can hes had it for 35,000 miles now maybe more and no problems.. The intercooler, the downpipe, wastegate downpipe, and the manifold was ceramic coated black but the other piping lets just say there was some work to do... They give you enough pipes to find a way to run everything its just a nightmare and i honestly wouldnt recommend it.. Especially when our forum has used kits for close to the same price from name brands...
The important stuff was actually pretty good except the turbo i didnt think was great but hes got 30+ so i guess hes the one laughing.. The intercooler is actually a real tube and fin setup which was rather suprising..
Kit #1 is ok if you know cars and you know fabricating..
Duratec kit, If i had a duratec i would buy it just to see... It really seems to look pretty decent.. and so what if the turbo is shit down the road just get a ball bearing garret..
+ Name brand kits are easier to tune...
Makes tuning easier for tom when he knows the kit to.. Hard to know what to expect with an ebay kit...
