Whats up man nice to see a new houston person. Welcome to FF.com this site is awesome and not to brag but so are us houston folks on here. We usually do a meet every month so keep an eye out on here for any new meets.
12/17/11-saturday drive with members from a couple groups thru Sam Houston forest area. Contact Pattacular for info since he hasn't posted it on here yet. Hope I can make it but not sure yet. Btw welcome.
Lol sorry for the mix up guys. New svtf owner is what i should of said. Ive been here for ever but inactive for almost 2 years. My bro has a 2004 zx3, thats why. I used to live in PR now moved to Houston. Got the svtf as a nice dd till i can get settled in and get a stang or a z06.
Take delivery of car tomorrow.
I have a drag, drift, street racing machine back home and im a member on 5 or more car forums, a moderator on 2 of them so i know how this works do auto x as well. thanks everyone for the welcome. Will def show up to the next meets
Car back home, had it at 380whp before i took everything apart to sell/store it and move up here
I know i know the mobil 1 sticker looks off but i had free oil changes and products so didnt really care for it
Yes, still have it. It should be at around 250whp right now, def not the same. Its sitting in my parents garage back home in pr. Brother and his car are also in pr.
Yes i want to auto x again! Ill prob do that after i get to know this svt and mod it a bit.
Any one know any good race/ford/tune shops in houston for a timing belt change? And maybe a reflash/tune after i mod it up?
Why need a shop when you have an abundance of helping hands on this site? We always get together and do install meets so im sure we can get together and help u eith a timing belt change. Posted via FF Mobile
Thatll be nice! Forgive me! Im not used to all this hospitality in a forum. I want to do timing belt change asap! Ill bring the beer and puerto rican food
What u will notice here is we are a tight group of friends who work on cars and love doing it and helping others. Once u work on cars with us enough then u eill be able to do it urself. Thats how i learned. Now the timing belt is something i cant do yet but will learn one day. Posted via FF Mobile
Im still shocked hehe. I work on all my cars but something like clutch in a fwd or inner block... Nope not yet for me. I installed the whole turbo kit, components and clutch and flywheel (<-- this with some help) on my genesis my self. I also designed and welded the exhaust system it had. So its not that i dont have skills but timing belt ive never done and one wrong move can cost $$$$ so i leave that to someone that knows what they are doing.
Welcome and AWESOME! More Houston focus peeps. Everyone around here is super nice and if we can help out we do, I have seen a couple timing belt changes done around town but don't know where to begin to do it myself.
Keep an eye out as we do do the meets monthly and we occasionally do random meet ups like the Auto-x this Sunday so there is normally stuff going on all the time.
my work schedule sucks right now so let me check. what time is the event on suunday?
I take delivery of the car tomorrow so busy day for me as i already have plans to fix up a few things. Clear up the fogged head lights, correct a small sun burn spot on the rear bumper, clean/wash it, oil change, spark plug change, alignment and some detailing at night have to take full advantage of my only day off this week hehe.
Ill order the belt, now i saw a few "belt kits" online that include the original belt plus tensioners and stuff
Welcome to Houston. Yes we can definitely help you with your belt, just need to align our schedules. I have that blue belt you have in the link it sure is pretty when you open it. Here is the link to my thread I made about mine
You may just want to get a black one and save the money cause they don't stay clean and blue. You can look at mine it has some miles on it so it would be a good judge on whether you want to the blue one or not. It's also best to change the water pump out too while we're there. Also like Raymond said you want to get the t-belt tensioner and the idler pulley too. Also some of our cars suffer from t-belt walk, not all but some. To fix this issue you can get a grooved idler pulley from gold coast performance here is the link to that.
You don't have to get this if you don't want too. I don't have one on my car and my belt doesn't walk. Well it did at first but the belt walk as mainly due to the belt tensioner which I readjusted and now no problems.
Now clutch jobs aren't that hard on FWD cars, just more of a pain. I just put the tranny in my SVT I just got a couple of months ago here is the link to that thread
I'm not sure if I can make it to the Auto-X this weekend. I have to check my gas situation out and also my friend wants me to help him figure out a way to get a reverse on his dad's trike. I will try to make it to something, it's been too long since I've seen the local crowd. It really has grown quite large since I first joined and it was nobody except Raymond and I.
Welcome to FF TX. Looking forward to meeting you one day when I can make a meet. I just barely wrapped up my Fofo from months of sitting on the backburner. Can't wait to make a meet.
I use the Copper ones, because they have a more consistent power output and don't surge much at all. But you don't have to go with the Copper ones as a daily. But definitely go with the Motorcraft ones ... by the way ... we have several members that work at Tommy Vaughn Ford off of Shepherd and i10 ... they possibly could help you out a bit on cost.
Give them a call, tell them you are Focus guy recommended from TeamFocalize ... should be good to go.
Btw Tukani, are u a mod or an admin? I need my name changed
