OK here is the thread for all of us who LOVE our Focus!
I go into the garage and just gaze at it.
I love driving my Focus.
It gets spectacular gas mileage! And it is so cool the way i can watch how all the things that waste gas happen.
It looks so cool!
The seats are perfect fit.. So is the steering wheel.
My Focus drives great.
Gets better as time goes on driving it is more fun... I am one HAPPY gal driving my 2012 Ford Focus!!!

And no complainers ( [screwy] ) allowed!! [goofydrunk][drinking]

I am another happy focus owner. I was a little concerned when I first got my car with some funky shifting noises and MFT resets. But now over 5000 miles I am getting terrific gas mileage (~38 mpg avg.) and great performance. I also just love driving it, what a blast, and I think it is a great looking car.

Another new owner here!

2012 Titanium Hatchback - 401A (Leather Package) - Sterling Grey Metallic

Traded in a Saab 9-3 Aero Sedan with 6spd Manual Trans. I miss the speed & handling of the Saab. A fun 4.5yrs.

Focus is quieter, just as comfy, has an automatic trans, uses regular unleaded, no more costly Mobil 1 0W-40 $130 oil changes and a bangin sound system with the MFT.

Dealer gave me a great trade in price & $4,000 off MSRP. I really wanted heated leather but had no interest in all the other pricey options and they had no 401A's on the lot with Cold Weather.

Letting the teenage daughter drive it to school while I abuse the Monte Carlo on my long commute.

I just turned over 4000 kilometers today, and still having a blast. I can't seem to go a day without having a co-worker or friend ask about/comment on the car.

I'm new here, just bought my sterling gray metallic SE hatch on 1/27 and at right about 500 miles on the odometer, I am loving this car! Unfortunately I was not able to get MFT or SYNC, but I think the stock radio is pretty darn good. Of course, I'm not an audiophile so maybe I'm just not picky enough. Anyway, awesome gas mileage, awesome handling, loves the twists and turns of driving around in these mountains. NO road noise, which compared to my last car is a huge blessing! Very comfortable seat, probably the most comfortable seat in a car that I've driven. I also love the position of the headrest, it hits the back of my head at exactly the right spot! Seems like such a little thing, but makes for such a comfy ride. I can't wait to really get this thing out on the open road and put her to work!

To add to this post, I found out that my FoFo's birthdate is 1/11/2012. I took delivery on 1/27/2012. That sucker got from MI to NC and out on the lot pretty dang fast! Actually, I first saw her on the 25th when she was a mere 14 days old. That is just so cool! Okay, so I'm such a geek that I think it's cool at least. :)

My only complaint, and it is really a tiny one, is that the stupid AUX jack is in the glove compartment! What good is that when I am driving? If that's my only complaint, though, I think we're good! I LOVE FORD and I am loving my new Focus!

Today while out running some errands, I was walking back to my Focus to drop some items in the trunk, and while walking up to it I noticed it was getting some attention. A middle-aged gentleman was giving it a good once-over; walking a lap around it, looking at the decals, and taking a quick peek inside. First time I've seen that.

I have to say, I like mine a lot. I picked it up a few days ago and haven't wanted to drive my Talon since. Though, I'm sure when it warms up that will change completely since, the Focus is infinitely slower than the Talon.

My friend also likes the car and was impressed enough to start thinking about trading his Cobalt in for one.

Bought my Sonic Blue 2012 Fous S (with automatic transmission) on Sat the 11th. Drives well, feels solid and safe. Looked at 2012 Fit and 2012 Corolla - was not impressed. Traded in my 1998 Escort SE wagon. I've only owned Fords. Also bought/upgraded to a 7 year 75k bumper to bumper warranty after hearing issues with the automatic transmission and electrical doodads. Hopefully this car will last for a decade (or more). The only thing that I'm not too fond of is the plastic wheel covers.

I recently purchased a 2012 Ford Focus SE Blue Candy Hatch with the sports package. I purchased the car on 2/4 and have almost 600 miles at the moment. My car's birthday is on 12/9. This car feels solid to drive and I appreciate the extra power this car has over my 2011 Ford Fiesta. I got used the Powershift on the FoFi so it was easy to get acclimated to the FoFo's transmission and I know I can squeeze out some impressive mpg numbers on this car as time goes on. I hope this car can last me at least a decade or more. [thumb]

It's called 'active hill assist' it is for holding your car on a steep grade to prevent it from rolling back when you let off the brake. When you toggle it you will see an icon on the display showing it is on. I wouldn't worry about the trans. Most issues have been addressed and many still being commented on are from earlier productions. IF you have issues with it then your dealer has the TSB for it. These issues are primarily aggravations and not actual defects. Just computer adjustments to refine shift parameters. Don't think about it, just drive it like you would any car.

Today my father and I switched cars, as I was to take his to work with me for some scheduled service. He got to drive the Focus to work and back, and loved it. He misses driving a stick, and said it reminded him of driving the Grand Prix (see sig) when it was new.

He even topped up the tank for me. [thankyou]

Small black "knob" between my fuel gauage and temp gauge

Thanks to everyone for answering my questions about my S. Yes, I have another question.

There is a small black "knob" between my fuel gauage and temp gauge. Turning it does nothing. There is also not mention of it (or its function) in the manual. I thought it would reset the miles traveled back to zero in order to manually calculate the MPGs. What does it do? TIA

So far I've gone about 150 miles (rush hour freeway driving) on a 1/4 tank of gas. My 98 Escort wagaon would be between 1/2 and 3/4 at this point.

Sounds like you're talking about the stem that you press to reset the trip odometer in the S. Not 100% sure because I have an SE so I have the trip computer with controls on the steering wheel, but yours does sound like you need to press it, not turn it, to reset.

New to the forum, but what a better way to start other than to post this.
Just bought my first new car: 2012 Focus 4D SE 6speedAT. I went for a Fiesta, but thanks to autoshow rebates, the Focus wasn't a big step up price wise. I've been dying of anticipation waiting for the dealer to trade for it and now it's here and it's beautiful. Took my gf and my daughter for a spin, and I'm glad I didn't have to settle for a Fiesta.

What an excellent start ... you should only expect more and more of the same enjoyable driving experience. Welcome to Focus Fanatics!

Ahh the Fiesta. It is a great little car. I get one as a loner some times. When I park them next to each other (black Fiesta & Black Foucs) the untrained eye may see them as the same car. Well they are worlds apart. I am however comparing my Focus TI to a mid level Fiesta.

The Fiesta is a great car in its segment and for the price it is a good deal. But like you .. I am so glad I got the Focus instead!

Yeah, sorry if I came off as bashing the Fiesta! I had done tons of research thinking I'd only be able to afford the Fiesta. In it's class it really only goes up against the Fit as far as getting a reliable and economic performer, and if you ask me interior space is the only thing the Fit has over the Fiesta. Fiesta is pretty sweet, and I'd have been happy with that too, but the Focus just looks so damn mean. Its almost been a week and its a thrill to drive.

The FoFi is a baby FoFo! Great pics, btw.

When I went for my new car, I was between the two but the finance company made up my mind for me, I couldn't get financing on the FoFi because there were no rebates or incentives to bring the cost down. I needed all I could get to eat the negative equity away on my old crappy Kia. :-(

Oops, hit send too soon! Meant to go in to say that the Focus ultimately ended up to be the better choice for me because I do occasionally have a backseat passenger. Heck, she wouldn't have wanted to sit back there on a road trip she said but my 6' sister said it wasn't have bad in the back seat so long as the front seat was moved forward a bit. Probably could have never gotten in the Fiesta. Test drove both and they were both great cars!
